UV Laser Settings
UV lasers, usually around 355 nm, mark with very little heat. They are used for glass, plastics, and delicate or heat-sensitive materials where a fiber or CO2 laser would melt, crack, or discolor the surface.

What to know about uv laser settings
- Cold marking
- Because the beam is absorbed near the surface with little heat spread, UV can mark clear glass and white plastics without the frosting or melting other lasers cause.
- Very source-specific
- UV sources vary a lot in power and pulse behavior. Treat settings from another machine as a starting point and run a test grid.

Before you run these settings
Settings vary between individual machines, even of the same model: lens, focus, alignment, air assist, and the exact material all change the result. Run a small test grid on scrap from the same sheet first, never leave the laser unattended, and never cut PVC or vinyl.
